The West Coast Hockey Prep Camp is proud to celebrate the following alumni success updates.  We want to add all deserving players  to this list so please let us know if you have an exciting announcement!  Since last posting we have added many more, and want to fill this page with all of your good news.

Alumni Success Updates: 2017-2018 Season

Phoebe Staenz, 1994, in camp 2015, 2016, 2017, registered in boys College Pro Group Week 4 (plays in Stockholm Sweden with Club team and Swiss Olympic Team).  Swiss Olympic Team in Pyeongchang, 2018

Genevieve Knowles, 2000, at camp in 2018 and injured before 2017, will play for Korean Olympic Team in Pyeongchang, 2018

Brett Stapley, 1999, at camp in 2015, 2016, 2017 (captain). 2017 World Junior A Challenge in Truro, N.S., Dec. 10-16. Team Canada West Roster.   Led BCHL scoring for multiple weeks (in 4th at time of writing) as member of Vernon Vipers, committed to University of Denver for Fall 2018.

Carter Turnbull, 1998, at camp in 2014, 2017 World Junior A Challenge in Truro, N.S., Dec. 10-16. Team Canada West Roster.

Griffen Outhouse, 1998, Goalie Coach at Prep Camp.  Has earned starting goaltender spot with Victoria Royals, WHL, and earned invite to Las Vegas Knights Prospects Camp, NHL.

Olivia Knowles, 1999, at camp 2014, 2015, 2016, begins career at University of Minnesota, NCAA Div I.

Tyler Welsh, 1997, at camp in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and group captain at Prep Camp.  Begins Ivy League career at Yale University, NCAA Div I.

Alec Zawatsky, 1999, at camp in 2014, 2016, 2017 and group captain at Prep Camp.  Moves from Notre Dame in SJHL to Saskatoon Blades, WHL.  Scored first WHL goal a week after arriving in Saskatoon.

John Wesley, 1997, at camp in 2015, 2016 (and captain).  At time of writing sits 5th in League Scoring in BCHL as a member of the Surrey Eagles.

Team BC U18 (2000 Born) Win Bronze Medal Winners at 2017 Nationals in Quebec City:  Alex Allan (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017), Myah Bowal (2017), Jenna Buglioni ’02 (2016), Maryna MacDonald(2014, 2015, 2016, 2017), Danika Pasqua(2014, 2015, 2017), Kate Reilly ’01 (2016, 2017), Courtney Vorster “C” (injured week before 2017), Stefanie Wallace ’01 (2016, injured 2017, 2018), Camryn Wong (2014, 2017)

Team BC U18 Coaches Win Bronze Medal Winners at 2017 Nationals in Quebec City: Graham Thomas, Dom DiRocco, Eddie Guay

Beckham Willis, 1999, at camp in 2014, native of Comox, BC, playing for the Bonnyville Pontiacs, AJHL Junior A.

Marissa Ryalls, 2000, at camp in 2015,2016,2017, Shawnigan Lake School Midget Prep, CSSHL, Commits to Brock University, Canadian U Sports

Stefanie Wallace, 2001, at camp in 2016 & 2018 (injured 2017), Playing for the Oakville Hornets, leading PWHL defence in scoring and tied for 7th overall in the league. (As of Dec 11,2017).   Committed to Princeton University, NCAA Div I and Ivy League.

Jacson Alexander, 2001, at camp  in 2016, injured just before 2017.  Playing for the Victoria Grizzlies, BCHL has committed to the University of Denver, NCAA, Div I.   Made Canada’s U17 Roster and played in the recent U17 for Team Canada Black, drafted  round 6 #87 overall by Lincoln Stars in the USHL Futures Draft.

Ryan Novecosky, 2000, at camp in 2017, 2018.  Shawnigan Lake Midget Prep CSSHL assistant captain, AP’s with Alberni Valley Bulldogs, BCHL

Jojo Tanaka Campbell, 2000 at camp in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018.  Shawnigan Lake Midget Prep CSSHL co-captain, AP’s with Cowichan Valley Capitals, BCHL.

Zach Turpin, 1999, at camp 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, registered 2018 and captain.  Zach is enjoying his first successful Junior A season with Fresno Monsters of the Western States Hockey League in Fresno California

Kabore Dunn, 2001, at camp in 2014, 2015, 2016, injured in 2017, registered in 2018.  Drafted to Tri-City in the 4th Round (#59 overall) of the USHL Futures Draft

Chase Landa, 2001, at camp 2015, 2016, 2017, registered 2018.  Goalie in rookie season with North Okanagan Knights, KIJHL

Allan Gekhman, 1999, at camp in 2017, registered in 2018,  now playing 1st season Junior B Port Moody Panthers, VIJHL.  Delta Academy Alumnus.

Doug Poelvoorde,  2000, at camp in 2017, registered in 2018, now playing 1st season Junior B with Mission City Outlaws, VIJHL.  Delta Academy Alumnus

Jordan Hendry, 2002, at camp in 2016 and 2017.  Playing first season of BCMML with Valley West Hawks

Sean Tschigerl, 2003, at camp in 2017.  Named MVP of big Rocky Mountain Invitational Bantam Tourney in Calgary.  Top bantam prep player in October Chilliwack AAA tournament.

Trevor Wong, 2003, at camp in 206, 2017 & registered for 2018.  Top bantam prep player in October Chilliwack AAA tournament. Verbally commits to University of Denver, NCAA Div I.

Logan Stankoven, 2003, at camp in 2016, 2017, registered in 2018.  Top bantam prep player in October Chilliwack AAA tournament.

Bruce had such a fantastic time at your camp. Such a fabulous set up! He will definitely be back next year.  Thank you so much for forwarding all of us the birthday photo, and for the staff taking the extra time out of their day, to prepare the birthday cake for the boys!  It was truly a wonderful experience for Bruce, the entire week.  Kelli Avender, Nanaimo, BC.
